right here goes bought the bike for £30 complete but not used for 15-20 years quite messy but complete was told it jumps out of 2nd gear, so the strip down began 3 hours later i had a complete box of bits gave up and left in shed for 6 months my 15 year old said dad can i get a bike when I'm 16 yup said i what about the fizzy (cuz no son of mine is riding a barbie scooter, if it aint got gears it aint a motorbike) so off went the frame, stand, swing arm, chain guard, chain cover and air box all to be powder coated for £115, right lets check the pile of bit for the engine bearings good, get some gaskets refit gear cluster and find one shaft at about 35 degrees to the other not so good, checked casings and found a large crack all the way around the bearing after a crash course in French and much foot stamping i finally knew why it jumped out of second mainly due to the casing flexing around the gear shaft(photo )
Today sunday 26/5 we refitted the loom(i had to strip it to single wires and carry out extensive repairs) and switch checked everything with a multimeter it worked seeing the engine sat in the frame i got impatient so rebuilt the carb and reffited clamped handlebars in the vice got a big syringe full of petrol kicked the kickstart(Which fell apart my fault as i'd fitted the new spring washer and circlip wrong it did it 3 times till i sussed it so out with my favorite tool the angle grinder and reshaped the top of the kickstart )rebuilt no further probs screwed on the exhaust and she FIRED third kick i ran three carbfulls of fuel no knocking or other noises, It was like being sixteen again.

A replacement casing has been source(contact details below) so on to the paint work went to the local paint factors and splashed out on some paint got home removed the tank stickers and oh shit totally the wrong colour so i mixed it and sprayed over the head lamp it hid some imperfections in the primer coat an looked good anyways rubbed it all off and reprimered. However I've found the right one at a good price original colour base coat plus clear top coat and thinners delivered to the door hopefully as time goes on photos will appear and hopefully some colour swatches and painting info etc
